Building Specifications to Look for While Buying a Ready-to-Move Apartment

Unlike the older generations, people today do not have the time or the patience to oversee the construction of their homes. Most urban dwellers nowadays do not even prefer investing in properties that are under construction, instead preferring ready-to-move-in apartments.

Considering these trends, most reputed real estate companies are coming up with ready-to-move apartments. Such properties can be easily found in urban metropolises like Gurgaon, where there is an incessant rise in the demand for properties.

Although such ready-to-move apartments in Gurgaon offer a wonderful solution to new home buyers, before making the final purchase, buyers must check all aspects of the project, especially the building specifications. Here are a few notable things to consider before investing.

Building structure: The building should have excellent structural integrity and be earthquake-proof. Ideally, an RCC framed structure on a pile foundation is considered best for high rises, and buyers should try to ensure that these specifications are maintained in the construction of the building.

Depth of walls: Before buying any property that is ready to move, whether, in Gurgaon or any other urban metropolis, buyers should carefully check the width of the outer and inner walls. The minimum desired thickness for outer walls is 230 mm, 120 mm for inner walls and 80 mm for walls that will serve as railings. An apartment with walls with thicknesses lesser than the given dimensions may not be as strong and worth investing in.

Flooring: Although many people prefer wooden floorings, in new ready-to-move-in apartments, buyers can only expect to have vitrified tiles for the living and dining areas, anti-skid tiles for areas like the bathroom, kitchen and balcony and ceramic tiles for the toilet dado. Before buying the apartment, buyers should check the flooring well, as this too determines the quality of the construction.

Electrical and Sanitary Fittings: In every ready-to-move-in apartment, there should be concealed electrical and plumbing lines. Also, the switches and wires and the sanitary fittings should be of the best quality in the apartment.

Apart from these aspects related to the construction quality, before buying an apartment that is ready for possession, buyers may also want to ensure about the elevator maintenance schedules, security, power back up as well as parking facility available within the residential complex.
